Khavda · Great Rann of Kutch
Stillness, at the edge of the white Rann
Round mud bhungas in the village of Khavda, the last stop before the salt begins. Slow mornings in the Banni, and evenings where the land turns white under the sky.

Welcome to Khavda · ખાવડા
A village stay, shaped by Kutch
Khavda sits at the northern edge of the Banni grasslands. We built our rooms the way homes are built here: round walls of mud, thatch overhead, lippan mirror-work catching the lamp light.
01
Built the Kutchi way
Each ભૂંગા · bhunga keeps cool through the afternoon and warm through desert nights.
02
Close to the Rann
The salt flats, Kalo Dungar and the Road to Heaven are all an easy drive. Go at sunset, come back by moonlight.
03
Rooted in the village
Khavda is known for its hand-painted terracotta pottery, and the craft villages of the Banni are close by.

Full-moon nights on the Rann
On a full moon the salt glows silver from horizon to horizon. These nights fill first, so plan around the lunar calendar.
